Day 11

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Nuff said.

Today my walk was Excellent!!! I went for the duration of the movie and then had time for some Drowning Pool and Mudvayne courtesy of my favorite Hawaiian VJ. There's something about the songs, Let the Bodies Hit the Floor, Dig, and Death Blooms, that can keep you from inadvertently or prematurely pressing the Stop button.

I'll add that I've been experiencing a sense of satisfaction since I discovered quite by accident that the treadmill stops at 100 minutes. Knowing that I have to kick it back in gear because I'm not satisfied with my walk is one of those little joys that can brighten up an otherwise dull day.

Still no email at work, but, again, I'm doing great either way. I know I'm on my way to being in shape again. Sure, round is a shape, but it's not exactly well suited for maintaining some similitude of self esteem or the effectual performance of one's Biblical marital duties.

I'm not what you could call excited about what tomorrow has in store, but I'm no longer devoid of hope. I see so much life in my son's eyes. He has enough for the both of us. I just want to be around to watch him discover the world and all of its possibilities. He is my reason to live; my motivation. I walk for him. I walk for his mother. I love them. I have to prove it to them.

That's why I have not once dreaded the thought of having to get on the treadmill.

Day 11: 5 miles @ 3mph, or 100 minutes, plus a 3 minute cool-down.

It's worth it! They're worth it!
