Day 90

I got a lot done today, but you'd never know it by looking at the house. We've yet to pack the first box.

All my efforts so far have been aimed at liquidating what amounts to half of my guitar collection so that I can buy an amp off of a friend and coworker before we leave this place.

I know it might sound wrong to an outsider, but the amp really is that good, and narrowing down my collection to the two or three guitars I actually play is the right thing to do. I can already feel a sense of relief for having the ones I don't play out of the house.

The thing is, I actually do intend on playing more. I really do want to, especially when the sound is right!

Anyway, today is a big round number. No, it's not a triple digit round number, but it's a significant one nonetheless. The doctor told me that he wanted to see me in three months. It's been three months.

I think I'll make an appointment for my birthday just so I can go there and hear some good news from him for a change. It would make for a very nice birthday present. Better than a new amp, that's for sure.

I hope to be rid of the Metformin, or at least get confirmation that I will be able to wean off of it once I'm at my target weight.

It shouldn't take me too much longer to get to that goal considering my current pace. 55 pounds lost in 90 days represents over a half pound a day. If I can keep this up I'll be there before the next 90 goes by.

Not bad.

I haven't relented one my walking. I'm still doing 90 minutes per day, minimum. The speed varies according to how I feel, which lately seems to depend on the weather, but for the most part I'm averaging about 5.5 miles per day.

Again, not bad.

I'd be lying if I said that I've never stuck to my guns like this before, but I will say that I'm a lot less destination driven than I was when I was getting ready to enlist. I'm doing this to prolong my life. I can't quit. There is no destination, only continuously evolving goals.

I'm walking for my life.

Day 90: 5.5 miles in 90 minutes.

Mesa Engineering Roadster, come to papa!
