Day 29

Back to work. Ugh! At least it wasn't that bad of a Monday, for a Tuesday, that is.

I guess I had gotten used to sleeping in until 8:00 or even, whoa, 8:30, and who wouldn't? 5:50 came around way too early this morning. Seriously, what's up with that? Why can't 5:50 pop up at about 8:45, or at least feel like it a little bit?

I've had a nasty tickle in my throat all day, driving me to hack up my lungs every 5 to 15 minutes during the work day, but about every 45 seconds since I drove off post. I'm really allergic to this place. I wonder if there's a place on this planet where I can go to escape summer and fall colds, seasonal allergies, and maybe even diabetes. Hey, as long as I can get uninterrupted high speed internet and something nice to eat on the weekends I could almost go anywhere.

There are, obviously, other conditions that would apply.

Tonight's movie was a gem of a film. Malice in Wonderland. While intended for a somewhat mature audience, it was not, as the vibe of the title may suggest, an adult themed work. It was quirky and odd but had a very sweet feeling to it at the same time, and then ending was quite satisfying.

I walked for the full, howbeit relatively short, duration without taking my eyes and ears off of it once. It was another one of those serendipitous finds that continue to reinforce my appreciation for Netflix.

Anyway, I still have no idea what I weigh. The scale at the hotel exercise room said that I was a cool 225, to which I unleashed a somewhat hearty guffaw. I also can't really see the difference, which is disconcerting, to say the least. But I have no intention of stopping. I'm just trying to find a livable balance so that I don't burn myself out before I ever really make any progress.

3 miles seems to be my current milestone, but today I went a bit longer because of the movie. It's a good distance, and the duration is just about right. I know I need to power walk at least an hour a day to get the results I want, so that's my median for now.

So why the guilt?

Sure I could do more, but I'm not dropping to 170 in a day. Not without major surgery. EEEK!!!

Day 29: 4+ miles in 80ish minutes. What can I say? I was paying attention to the movie.
