(Edit: I fixed the jumble, but rather than edit out my flub, I'm leaving it in to properly demonstrate my frame of mind... or lack thereof.)
The drive back home went faster than expected despite a major slowdown for an accident on the west-bound side of the highway. Thank goodness we were headed east! Someone's camper trailer had detached from their vehicle and flipped over onto the highway median. It was a mess. The traffic on the other side of the highway was the only reason I was glad to be leaving Houston.
Every time we go there we don't want to come back home. It's not so much that Houston is such an amazing place, it's OK and all, it's just that we're city people, and where we live is so back woods that if the Army pulled up their proverbial anchor the place would simply die out. The base is the only thing keeping this town alive.
I miss the city already, but I definitely miss that hotel treadmill. That thing was so comfortable. I really dreaded getting on ours last night but I did it anyway. I kicked it up to 3.5 right away and watched the first hour of Hellraiser in Space, I mean Event Horizon. I wasn't up for a full 100 minutes, even though I probably should have gone for it. I was, and still am as I type this, quite tired.
Day 28: 3 miles in 52 minutes, plus 1/4 mile CD.
