Another tardy update.
Yesterday finally fely like a real Saturday. We went out to the movies, had a bunch of pop corn and Coke Zero, and then went to Outback for some surprisingly decent food and service.
Good food and service have seemed so rare here lately that we're almost completely convinced that mediocrity is the acceptable norm throughout the entire state. People just don't seem to care at all. It's evident in almost every facet of their lives.
OK, enough of the "poo on Louisiana" routine for now....
Still...
Nah.
The movie was a pleasant surprise. It was an Americanization of a Swedish vampire movie, called Let the Right One In, that we saw on Netflix and really enjoyed. The redo, retitled, Let Me In, was so faithful that it felt like we were watching the same movie. Only a few things changed, but they changed for the better.
A couple of previews looked good too, but don't they always? The surprise is usually a negative one when you spend good money to find out that the best parts were in the trailers.
I walked for the same duration, only a slight bit faster. I hit the 5 mile mark at 79 minutes. Not too bad.
Day 61: 5.5 miles in 90 minutes.
I'm closing this because I have another one to write later, unless I forget....
