Day 65

Work, work!

The day went by pretty well since I stayed busy. I like having work to do. Completing a task gives me great satisfaction. Most of what I do is so simple and quick because of the groundwork I laid to streamline the processes I employ on a daily basis.

Sometimes, however, I take on assignments that are less than routine, and I welcome them because of the challenge and the deviation from the norm.

My weight is still fluctuating. It will be a lot less frustrating when it's fluctuating in the low 170s rather than the mid 220s. But even so it was to be expected.

I'm feeling relatively well, all things considered. The Metformin is still wreaking havoc on my bowels. Some days are quite a bit better than others. Today isn't one of those days, but having grown somewhat accustomed to this state of affairs I don't find myself unduly upset by yet another bout of intestinal discomfort.

Hey, at least I'm not waking up at 0300 with my throat on fire and chunks of my dinner lodged in my sinus cavities. There's that, eh?

I still sleep with the wedge, but it's more precautionary than requisite at this point. I could do without, but I'm still a bit leery.

I'm still hurting from pushing myself over the long weekend. I've had to start doing yoga-ish stretches to help my hip flexors. Not taking a day off for all this time has had a lingering effect. I've kept my pace and duration down to what I've determined is my bare minimum: 5 miles at 3.5 mph. It's enough to get through two TV show episodes and have a quick 5 minute cooldown.

My knees aren't hurting like they were, though, nor is my foot. The new shoes are really doing the trick for me.

Now I just need a GS13 job offered to me. Have I mentioned that before?

Day 65: 5+ miles in 90 minutes.
