Day 59

Wow, it's late. I guess I got caught up in my guitar gear fetish again and was adding things to a wish list for a contest on a popular retailer's website. I would have been fine and done a long time ago, but their site isn't working very well at all. Seems as though the webmaster only tested it on IE. Booooo! I only use that piece of junk at work and only when I have to. Otherwise I use Chrome, Firefox, or, on my iPad, Safari.

It's still funny to think back a few years at how disinclined I was to learn the ins and outs of computers. I hadn't even tried any real games until the middle of 2000, when my wife introduced me to Diablp II. Around the same time a friend of mine showed me how to build web sites from scratch by viewing the source of a simple page and learning the basics by copying the syntax.

Now here I am getting paid comfortably to work with and on computers all day. I've even become a decent graphic artist. I love using Adobe Illustrator and Fireworks. I use them for all of my guitar designs now.

Today was a nice day. I got to hang out with the guys over lunch. We had a great time. We all get along very well at work and I consider some of them to be good friends. I don't use that term loosely.

I started late today but still went my usual distance. I was encouraged by all of the positive comments I've been getting from people at work. I guess my weight loss is really starting to show. I'm not even halfway to my goal, which freaks some people out. Many have warned me not to get too skinny. Skinny feels far better than fat.

Day 59: 5.3 miles in 90 minutes.
