Day 79

My birthday came early.

A friend and coworker sold me his brand new Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Rectifier speaker cabinet for an unbeatable price. I hooked it up to my Mesa Mark IV and fired it up.

Oh. My. Gawd.

Think Mugatu from Zoolander: "It's BEAUTIFUL!!!"

The sound is amazing. I played longer than I have in months. It felt so good to be back in the proverbial saddle.

I'm giddy.

Even the strain of waiting to hear from all these jobs I've been referred to is paling in comparison to the sheer dope like high of playing guitar through a real rig.

The strain is intense, I'll give it that. Like Tom Petty said, the wait is the hardest part.

We'll move eventually, there's no doubt about it, so getting all messed up about the when is somewhat pointless. Besides, I have a 4x12 Recto cab!

My weight did fluctuate upwards a bit, but I'm still under 220. It might be time for another 8 miler, just to kick things into gear again. It seems to work pretty well.

Anyway, all in all it was a very good day yesterday. Yes, late again. Sue me. Nyah!

Day 79: 5.4 miles in just shy of 90 minutes.
